Cucalorus Experience
Essentially I did not get to see most of the films I intended to watch in my blog, but the ones I did see offered varying degrees of quality. Perhaps the most interesting block I saw was Anti-Porno. Originally I was interested in this because it touches on the risqué topic of porn. The opening short animation called "Vagina" was well done because it offered a calming and easy to understand narrative which involved a womans vagina to come alive as a "pussy". (Ha) The actual feature we saw was bad though. Bad in that it presented sensitive topics such as abuse in the porn industry and the dangers of certain tropes such as the submissive woman being abused and raped. It never came full circle to identify itself and provide a real critique on such atrocities and simply failed to offer any meaningful argument. I did get to meet Jen Proctor with Gabby, who presented an awesome short critiquing the tropes of females in bathtubs. I enjoyed discussing with her about how ...
