Learning Objective Responses
1) I have definitely felt a sense of progression with my relationships with various individuals when working on this project. In collaborating with now 8 individuals, I have felt a progression of community, which is something that I haven't felt before. I normally detest group projects and prefer to work alone, but I've been fortunate to work with people who also strive to be successful in this industry.
2) To think after all that work we have done over the past few months is interesting. The entire project is essentially a roulette wheel, and when it's done spinning the result is what we've created. It's true though, that with time and determination from a small group of people, you can achieve a multitude of things without it being costly.
3) Generally there isn't much on a technical level that I've learned with this project. I had already worked with 80% of what we did, such as sound recording, sound editing, premiere, and cinematography. The biggest thing I did learn was how to use a film stock camera...something I've never used before.
4) Time management is always something I've had trouble with. It is the driving factor in why I don't get a lot done with my busy schedule between work, school, social life, and sleep. I always feel I have to do most of the work to get anything done in a group, but I need to get accustomed to dividing the work among various people. The biggest issue, however, is I'm worried my vision won't be translated onto screen with too many outside influences. This is why I seldom work with more than one person for most if my ideas.
5)This project definitely put me out of my comfort zone when working on it. It was encapsulated with unknown elements. Everything was purely random but tied together through various sounds and visuals. I'm not sure if I've made lasting impressions yet with this project, but I'm hoping with future ones I can broadcast what I'm capable of even more.

Your work always makes a lasting impression on me! You are one of the few people I know in the major who's extremely knowledgeable without coming off as aloof or conceited about it, and you're always incredibly willing to help me with my multitude of technical questions.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand disliking working with other people. I definitely agree, though, that it was much more bearable and actually fun with this project because everyone is so equally passionate!
